Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into photography?

When I was younger, I loved skateboarding and wanted to capture my friends in action, so I decided to get into filming.

What inspired you to become a photography tutor?

I want to share my experience and help others with their craft.

What are some essential skills or qualities that every photographer should possess?

Curiosity and a big sense of play. You have to allow yourself to make mistakes and have fun doing so.

What would you consider one of your best pieces of work and why?

Angels and Demons - filming at the CERN facility.

What is your teaching philosophy when it comes to photography?

Lean into your discomfort.

What are some key skills and knowledge areas you personally focus on in your courses?

My courses go through the tools of the trade so students can understand the options of moving the camera.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

Nature.

Are there any photographers you find most influential in your work?

In lak’ech - we are all part of the whole.

What is your favourite part about being a tutor?

Meeting people around the globe.

What advice would you give to new students?

Best camera you have is the one you have in hand at that moment.
